Show Review

The Diamonds agree that Jay White is a great impersonator

Staff Report

Forget the glowing reviews from critics and fans. Neil Diamond impersonator Jay White has received the two best endorsements of all.

Both Neil Diamond and his mother, Rose, have called White their "favorite tribute performer." In fact, when Diamond himself performed at the MGM Grand in December 2002, he took a private meeting with White before his concert, the first time he had ever done so in his career.

Diamond told White to "Keep on singing so I can stay home and relax."

White has received such accolades for his performance because he's got Diamond's moves, vocals and mannerisms down perfectly. He was the longest-running act in "Legends in Concert" at the Imperial Palace before going out on his own in 1997. He has appeared on "The Tonight Show" with Jay Leno and on "The Leeza Gibbons Show," on which Gibbons praised White as "uncanny and truly amazing."
